Email Deliverability — Common Questions

How does InboxEagle adapt to Google Postmaster Tools V2?
Google is retiring the Domain and IP Reputation dashboards, and the Postmaster Tools v2 API has no reputation endpoints at all. InboxEagle reads your Compliance Status from the v2 API instead: SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication, one-click unsubscribe, spam rate and TLS encryption. It tracks your daily Gmail spam rate against the 0.10% and 0.30% thresholds and raises an incident as soon as Google reports a compliance check failing.
What are the current DMARC and SPF requirements for Gmail and Outlook?
Bulk senders (5,000+ messages a day) must pass SPF and DKIM and publish a DMARC record of at least p=none, with SPF or DKIM aligned to the From domain. Gmail and Yahoo have enforced this since 2024, and Outlook.com has since May 5, 2025, rejecting non-compliant mail with 550 5.7.515. p=none is only the floor: move to p=quarantine and then p=reject once your aggregate reports show every legitimate source aligned. Keep your SPF record under the 10 DNS lookup limit, because exceeding it returns a permerror and SPF fails.
How do I keep spam complaints below 0.3%?
Aim for under 0.10% and never reach 0.30%, the level at which a domain loses eligibility for Gmail delivery mitigation. Add RFC 8058 one-click unsubscribe headers (List-Unsubscribe plus List-Unsubscribe-Post) and honor unsubscribes within 2 days, so people leave instead of reporting spam. Sunset contacts who have not engaged in 90 to 180 days, confirm opt-in on new signups, and send what subscribers asked for. InboxEagle's incident agent flags complaint spikes from Google Postmaster Tools data before they become a trend, and seed tests show whether your Yahoo and AOL placement is slipping.
What is inbox placement rate?
Inbox placement rate (IPR) is the percentage of emails that land in the recipient's inbox, as opposed to the spam folder, the promotions tab, or being silently blocked. It differs from delivery rate, which only measures whether the mail server accepted the message. A healthy inbox placement rate is above 95%. InboxEagle customers average 97.3%.
What is a seed list test?
A seed list test sends your email to a set of real test mailboxes before you send to your list, and shows exactly where it lands: inbox, promotions, spam, or missing. InboxEagle's inbox placement testing uses seed mailboxes at Gmail, Yahoo and AOL.
How is InboxEagle different from Google Postmaster Tools?
Google Postmaster Tools only shows Gmail data, updates with a 24 to 48 hour delay, and leaves the interpretation to you. InboxEagle combines Postmaster Tools v2 compliance data with DMARC and DNS monitoring, blocklist checks and seed tests at Gmail, Yahoo and AOL, alerts you within 1 minute of new data arriving, and generates an AI action plan telling you exactly what to fix.
Does InboxEagle work with Klaviyo?
Yes. InboxEagle has a native Klaviyo integration that connects your sending activity directly to deliverability monitoring. You can see which campaigns are driving complaint or placement changes, identify problematic segments, and get AI-generated action plans without leaving your workflow.
How quickly can I improve my inbox placement rate?
For authentication issues (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), improvement is typically visible within 24 to 72 hours of fixing DNS records. For issues caused by high spam complaint rates or low engagement, recovery takes 4 to 8 weeks of disciplined sending to highly engaged subscribers. InboxEagle's AI generates a prioritized action plan specific to your situation.
